The Flyers are now 0 - 2, in the last 2 games, when I am the first to post on game days!

sigh!

This isn't good!

I thought Bryz played a really decent game, one of his better ones as of late.

I really think half the team was still in All Star mode of passing the puck way to much in the offensive zone. The 3 on 2 with Jagr late in the third, he should've shot it versus looking to pass the puck to the wing.

As much as Simmonds is playing well, I do not think it warrants putting him on the top line. Once you saw the top line reunited, it seemed to really pick up the team.

Jagr had a lot of jump last night, so I hope his injury is 100% healed.

Good stuff about Propper and CHOP. It keeps it all in perspective that's for sure about what's really important.

Getting back to Flyers hockey, where do we go for a veteran blue liner with some "jam"? Not sure this team will go far with MAB on the backend although Gus looks fine out there. Would love to see the following defensive pairings...Timonen & Coburn, Mezsaros & Gus, Carle & "fill in the blank".

Does Lavy like to make a mockery out of our shoot-out participants? Roo is a given, Briere is a given when healthy...why not Talbot, Voracek, Kimmo? I did like putting the Kid Cooter out there. The trade for 17 is looking better and better. How about earlier in the season when he lead off with Simmonds in a shootout? It's not rocket science that's for sure, but I just don't get Lavy.

This team still lacks a true sniper. Anybody out there come the trade deadline? I keep hearing Bobby Ryan might be had but it looks like the Ducks are starting to roll. Love to send JVR out West but is Ryan really a sniper?

The team had a true sniper. They traded him. Not just in reply to this but in general, just like on the other thread. Second guessing and criticizing the Coach on shootouts is crazy. If they win, cool. If they don't let's criticize the Coach. Anybody want to put any blame on the players? How about they score 2 goals in the game and forget about the shootout?

Good game by Bryz. Now let's see him do it vs. an NHL-caliber team.

We should get this car on the roster for our next shoot out...it can take shelleys spot!

bryz and jagr were the best flyers out there, agreed, but enough of these points being pissed away, especially on home ice, to lesser teams - especially those without some of their top players.

to go shotless through the first 14 minutes of the game?

thought that bourdon and gusty looked like rookies - both struggled a bit.

giroux needs to stop with the cute crap and simplify his game.

to not play with any real purpose or determination until 8 minutes left in the game?
jagr and giroux being put back together was a big part of the late push.

if the SO ever becomes part of the playoffs, the flyers are (frank)ed.

they had a handful of point blank chances and didn't convert. jagr's crossbar, cooter snapping his stick, another in the first period from him, hartnell in close late - but never got his stick on it - another where he deflected it into his midsection on a 2 on 1 down low - they had their chances, and i wouldn't say pavelec robbed them on any of them, but he got the job done. they could have and should have won that game.

I would have preferred Harry Z. over Holmstrom. Rinaldo was supposedly available to play - I would have liked to see him back in there, too. Sestito deserved another look.

The Coach chose to play Shelley and Sestito instead.

I think for the time being we should shuffel the lines:

Hartnell-Giroux-Jagr
Read-Couturier-Voracek
Zulnerczyk-Schenn-Simmonds
Sestito-Talbot-Rinaldo

I wouldn't exactly call Wides a sniper with an avg shooting % of 9.3 over the course of his career in Philly.

Hary Z is not a 3rd line player in the League right now. He's a 4th line energy player.

He's been one of the top goal scorers in the NHL over the past 3 or 4 years, coming into this Season. Enough said.

one of my biggest frustrations last nite was the inability of the flyers to get the puck behind the jet d. either they tried to make the fancy play or they failed to get pucks deep on simple dump ins. some of these plays were likely a result of the layoff, but it put the team in an awkward transition scheme much of the first two periods.

I also hated the lines, but I get why lavi jiggered w/ the fist unit at least. I love that schenn looks good at the dot, but right now I prefer him at wing, because he gets into more trouble w/ turnovers when he plays C. don't get the Shelley/sestito combo
at all. I want my 4th line to get in on the forecheck and zac or z would make more sense...I know at least z was healthy.

sniper usually means high shooting percentage there slugger. The higher amount of shots you take, the higher your goal total. It's simple mathematics...just like when you goto a bar, you probably approach 100 women and only get lucky with 1 or 2. So, my explanation should make more sense to you.
